Arrangements

Potential clients should contact info@renegadewebheads.com. Many initial consultations (1-2 hours) are free to scope requests and evaluate potential applications to web technology. The group will then provide a summary of our proposed work with the per page or hour pricing (see below) noting included features plus an estimate of consulting and project management time of our senior staff.

Pricing and Site Construction Services

Traditionally, our pricing is based on hourly rates for various web-related tasks and the necessary number of days consulting from our senior consultant. Current charges are typically $80 per hour for standard HTML coding, varying prices for other work like graphics, and $75 -100/hour for any design consulting from our senior staff (Dr. Coursey). Our experience is that the consulting time is rarely more than two days for small projects (150 pages or so) and around five for large efforts (1500 pages). Clients who have a a solid vision of their application, know how they want their service to look, and can provide almost all materials in electronic form tend to have far less consulting time and lower overall costs. However, we find the most valuable contribution we often make comes from the senior consulting time in outlining a clear vision for the web site's mission, maintenance, and evaluation. Our government training is critical to developing a solid web plan (private web vendors seldom have any real understanding of the organizational and political realities of government work).
Web sites are becoming more polished looking as the desktop publishing model is taking the net by storm. The standard of what constitutes an acceptable web presence is rising almost daily. Programming, despite what you might hear from the trade press, is actually getting more, not less, complex. Our programmers spend many hours each week just updating their skills. Those skills can be tailored to your budget and business needs. We have produced web sites that commercially would have cost between $2000-$500,000 ranging from a few pages to almost 2,000.
We primarily develop systems but we can offer maintenance of an application on your own platform. We also offer application planning and/or training separately from development. We also have class projects in our WWW class where new students can work on an application for potentially far less cost. Hiring one of our students as an intern is another possibility. Related Service Pricing

Some clients just want help with graphics, CGI coding work, broadcasting sound and video over the net, or other special tasks while doing the main HTML web page construction on their own. We're often asked for pricing on such work independent of page construction. Contact us about other tasks, such as setting up audio and video servers. Educational and government/non-profit discounts are available.
